The purpose of this position is to provide leadership and responsibility for monitoring, inspection, maintenance, and repair of the Citys wastewater plant process instrumentation, controls, field instruments and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system; and to perform other skilled and semi-skilled work as required.
Graduation from high school, vocational school, or GED; Associates degree preferred in electronic engineering, or related field with four (4) years work experience with a strong electronic background in inspecting, maintaining and repairing equipment and electronic systems associated with instrumentation, controls, and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) equipment associated with its operation.
Must possess and maintain a valid SC Class D Drivers License and have an acceptable driving record. Must have knowledge of personal computer equipment with skill in the use of Microsoft Office preferred, utilizing Outlook, word processing and spreadsheet software programs. Will be required to provide twenty-four (24) hour maintenance support on a rotating on-call basis and may be a substitute on relief shifts for Water Plant Operators. Consideration may be given to an applicant proficient in troubleshooting and repair of Allen Bradley PLCs, radio frequency telemetry and use of RSVIEW, Wonder Ware, or CMMS software work order programs.
May be required to work additional hours, weekends, holidays, etc., as needed in order to accomplish assigned work on a ten-hour (10) rotating on-call basis.
