Assistant General Manager, fl.2

Fairmont Pittsburgh is seeking a passionate Assistant General Manager for our Food and Beverage operation. The ideal candidate will have the ability to assist the fl.2 General Manager to motivate and lead a vibrant team while providing the best food and beverage experience in Pittsburgh.

Hotel Overview: Fairmont Pittsburgh, a 4 diamond LEED certified luxury hotel, is located at the heart of Pittsburgh's business, cultural and retail hub. Fairmont Pittsburgh offers superb and distinctive guest services and accommodations in a luxury setting.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the fl.2 GeneralManager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are notlimited to the following:

  • Workclosely with the fl.2 General Manager to achieve the overall vision and goalsfor fl.2 as well as providing support and oversight to the additional outletsof the hotel.

  • Consistentlyoffer professional, engaging and friendly service through active floormanagement, and driving the service vision resulting in outstanding guestservice.

  • Leadthe team during service in the outlets.

  • Participatein ordering, inventory, storage and monitor usage of supplies.

  • Ensuretable and cover management are accurately tracked and reported.

  • Monitorrevenue stream to ensure accurate billing, collection and reporting.

  • Positivelyinfluence colleague engagement at all times.

  • Overseeproper opening and closing procedures for the outlets.

  • Performadministrative tasks as assigned including but not limited to employeeschedules, payroll tasks, purchase order administration, labor reporting, andquarterly sales reporting.

  • Reviewdaily arrival, VIP, and group reports and communicate all special requirements whilemonitoring execution.

  • Conductcolleague briefings and training sessions.

  • Adviseall colleagues of established standards and procedures set out by the hotel andthe department.

  • Focuson the details of service as prescribed and ensure colleagues are executing

  • Ensureperformance management principles are followed at all times

  • Otherduties as assigned





Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 year progressive Food and Beverage Management experience, preferably in a luxury property or successful free-standing operation.

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including weekends and holidays.

  • College Degree an asset.

  • Computer knowledge, particularly POS (MICROS) and Microsoft Office an asset.

  • Hands on management style with ability to lead through example.

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

  • Constant standing, walking throughout shift.

  • Long hours may be required.

  • Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
