Based in the Plainsboro, New Jersey area, this exciting long-term temporary-to-full-time opportunity is set in an engaging workplace where hard work is rewarded. In this role, the Staff Accountant is going to be focused in the accounts payable ledger but will also be in charge of preparing monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. This position will require a fair amount of time dedicated to producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. And during the monthly close, your responsibilities will also cover various aspects of internal reporting. You'll also review schedules for the reporting processes, stay in touch with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and play an active role in compliance. Major responsibilities Responsible for three way match and two way match of invoices Responsible for processing accounts payable and manual checks. Responsible for assisting with accounts receivable past due notices Assists with the monthly, quarterly, and yearend closings of the companys financial activity. Assists with other special accounting projects. Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation Aid in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP Participate in various department-wide initiatives Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analysis for management reporting Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner Candidates seeking immediate consideration should send a copy of their most up-to-date resume to brian.marion@accountemps.com, and call 609-987-0786.

Requirements

B.S. Degree in Accounting a plus 2+ years of relevant experience in accounting Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within accounting field Strong written and verbal skills Highly organized Ability to work under pressure of multiple projects and deadlines Ability to effectively prioritize workload and manage changes in direction Ability to work in a team environment Spreadsheet and database capabilities BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why" Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment Accounts Payable (AP) experience Fixed assets experience Proficiency in month end closings Expertise in Accounts Receivable (AR) Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities ERP system experience Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills Excellent attention to detail 3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
