The Area Rehabilitation Manager is responsible for directing, organizing and evaluating rehabilitation programs, services and personnel in his/her region, in a manner that supports the goals of Ageility while maintaining federal and state regulations and the state specific practice acts for Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversees the rehabilitation management in his/her designated clinics. In collaboration with the Senior Regional Rehabilitation Director, provide clinical coverage on an as-needed basis within assigned geography. Perform resident screens, evaluations and clinical treatments per the needs of the residents in the community and within the parameters outlined for each site visit. Communicates directly with the clinic rehab directors to ensure rehab-staffing levels through daily coordination of rehab staff assignments to meet clinical and operational needs. Reviews daily, weekly and monthly rehab productivity and efficiency to meet financial and clinical goals. Discusses findings and completes reports to the customer, Rehab Director and Senior Regional Director of Rehabilitation. Working directly with the Rehab Director: hires, evaluates and disciplines rehabilitation staff. Ensures ongoing roll out of new policies and procedures to clinics in region. Works with the rehab director to ensure that the Ageility Standards are being maintained. Facilitates appropriate utilization and appearance of rehabilitation space to include coordinated interdisciplinary scheduling of residents. Reviews the medical records weekly, monthly to assure that all federal and state requirements and conditions of participation on Medicare and Medicaid are met and that each therapist and assistant generates an accurate record of the number of treatments provided. Reports these findings to the Senior Regional Director of Rehabilitation on a monthly or as needed basis. Works directly with the clinic rehab director to ensure, communicate and coordinate clinic functions in a constructive manner that helps build team rapport and effectiveness. Responsible for the orientation of new Rehabilitation Directors, and Team Leaders. Communicates effectively with the rehab directors and facility-specific departments to include: nursing, dietary, social services, activities, etc., rehab staff, administrators, corporate rehab director, regional and corporate staff regarding specific issues or projects, goals, objectives and successes. Works with rehab directors to implement appropriate facility procedures to meet Five Star Standards. Assists the rehab director coordinate and assist in the orientation to the community and ongoing training of the rehab staff including Ageility specifics and work injury prevention. Works with rehab directors and Ageility Clinical team to maintain an effective CQI performance improvement program. Participates in regional marketing efforts. Performs other duties as required or directed. Works closely with the Regional Clinical Director in implementation of programs and in mock surveys. Provides educational seminars to therapy and community staff. Identify areas in need of clinical development and works with therapy staff to implement appropriate programs. Troubleshoots clinical challenges in conjunction with rehab and community staff.

- Graduate of an accredited physical therapy, occupational therapy or speech-language pathology school. Three years of strong clinical experience, 1 year of experience delivering outpatient services in the senior living setting with at least 1-year management experience required.

- Ability to communicate verbally with an excellent comprehension of the English language.
Education and/or Experience:
Graduate of an accredited bachelors level or masters level physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech-language pathology college.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Licensed by the state in which the therapist resides or practices.
Active, Valid Driver's License and able to travel between facilities.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must be able to express self adequately in written and oral communication and to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary care setting with Residents, families, staff members, representatives of community and government agencies.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract three digit numbers, calculate percentage of whole, measure in cubic centimeters (cc) and measure in feet and inches. Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, length, and height.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to solve unusual or complex problems.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Demonstrates active listening techniques, gains support through effective relationships, treats others with dignity and respect and seeks feedback.
