THE ROLE:

AMD is seeking a strong Manager to lead a Server Software Automation team focused on delivering scalable, high-quality, and extensible automation infrastructure. This role sits at the intersection of software engineering, automation, and AI innovation, offering the opportunity to shape how intelligent automation accelerates development velocity and enhances customer experience across AMD's data center platforms.

You will lead a highly skilled, globally distributed team of engineers and architects, working closely with system architects, firmware developers, validation teams, and product stakeholders. As part of the engineering leadership team, you'll help influence strategy around continuous integration, development processes, and quality improvements while driving adoption of automation and AI-driven solutions.

This is a highly collaborative, hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced, globally connected environment spanning teams across Austin, Bangalore, Penang, and Taiwan.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and scale a global software automation team delivering high-quality, scalable solutions
  • Drive automation strategy across build, test, and release pipelines to improve speed and quality
  • Partner cross-functionally with engineering, product, and architecture teams to align priorities
  • Develop and enhance robust CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks
  • Contribute hands-on to design, development, and debugging of automation systems
  • Lead end-to-end project execution across the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Mentor engineers and build a high-performing, growth-focused team culture
  • Establish and track metrics to improve efficiency, quality, and release performance
  • Champion continuous improvement and adoption of AI-driven automation solutions
  • Collaborate with global stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful delivery

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience leading software engineering teams while remaining technically hands-on
  • Strong background in building and scaling automation frameworks
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and distributed systems
  • Experience with backend/API automation using Python or similar languages
  • Expertise in microservices, REST APIs, and developer tooling
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated test frameworks
  • Experience troubleshooting complex automation systems
  • Proven ability to scale infrastructure, tools, and pipeline performance
  • Experience working across global engineering teams and stakeholder groups
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred
  • Additional coursework or practical experience in AI/ML desired
