THE ROLE:
The focus of this role is to plan, build, and execute new and existing features for AMD's graphics processor IP, resulting in no bugs and low power in the final design.
THE PERSON:
You have a passion for modern, complex processor architecture, digital design, and low power in general. You are a team player who has excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with other engineers located in different sites/timezones. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and are willing to learn and ready to take on problems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Take ownership of micro-architecture specification, RTL design, and implementation for complex digital blocks or subsystems.
- Implement and verify low-power design techniques (e.g., power gating, multi-voltage domains, clock gating, Dynamic Voltage and Frequency Scaling - DVFS) at the RTL level.
- Collaborate closely with architecture, verification, physical design, and software teams to define specifications and ensure successful integration.
- Perform RTL-level power estimation and analysis using industry-standard tools.
Write clear and concise design documentation. - Support verification and validation teams in debugging and achieving coverage targets.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to design methodology improvements.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Proficient in IP level ASIC verification
- Proficient in debugging firmware and RTL code using simulation tools
- Proficient in low power design
- Experienced with Verilog, System Verilog
- Automating workflows in a distributed compute environment.
- Scripting language experience: Perl, Ruby, Makefile, shell preferred.
- Exposure to leadership or mentorship is an asset
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in computer engineering/Electrical Engineering.
