THE ROLE

In this high-visibility leadership role, you will serve as the overall program owner driving the definition, execution, and productization of AMD's Desktop, Notebook, and Workstation platforms with customers. You will lead cross-functional engineering teams to accelerate platform readiness, strengthen ecosystem capability, and deliver competitive, scalable AMD-based solutions to market.

You will establish an execution framework that enables China-based customers to design, validate, and ship AMD platforms faster, with higher quality, and at lower development cost. This role is central to AMD's growth strategy.

THE PERSON

We are seeking a leader with 15+ years of experience in system development, silicon/platform engineering, product/program management. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of end-to-end engineering—from concept and architecture through validation and mass production—and has successfully driven complex, multi-site, cross-disciplinary programs. Experience managing China ecosystem partners (ODMs, OEMs) and navigating both business and technical engagement models is strongly preferred.

You must be an exceptional communicator who thrives in a fast-moving environment, builds trust across functions, and creates clarity in ambiguous situations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead end-to-end program definition, execution, validation readiness, and productization for AMD platforms within the customer.
  • Drive alignment on requirements, architecture, schedules, and execution plans across AMD engineering teams and ecosystem partners.
  • Deliver committed features, power/performance targets, quality, cost, and schedule, and provide regular executive updates on status, risks, and decisions.
  • Build and maintain an integrated program plan covering scope, timelines, dependencies, risks, and KPIs.
  • Manage change control, evaluate new or modified requests, and drive cross-functional consensus on trade-offs.
  • Enable and mature China ecosystem partners to accelerate AMD platform readiness and improve execution quality.
  • Drive AMD reference designs, AVL components, SW/AI stacks, and validation methodologies across ecosystem partners and internally.
  • Identify partner capability gaps and coordinate AMD resources to close them effectively.
  • Maintain senior-level relationships with customers and ecosystem partners and ensure alignment on execution expectations and readiness milestones.
  • Translate customer and market requirements into actionable program inputs in collaboration with BU, Sales, and Customer Engineering.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Demonstrated experience building or managing a China-based technology model (CTE model).
  • Leadership of multi-quarter or multi-year strategic initiatives with defined phases, milestones, and measurable deliverables.
  • Technical and program management background in silicon, system, firmware, software, or platform development.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment and influence without authority.
  • Strong financial and managerial acumen to evaluate ROI, cost structures, and business trade-offs.
  • Analytical and problem-solving strength; able to structure and synthesize complex technical and operational issues.
  • Ability to network broadly, build trusted partnerships, and drive effective decision-making across engineering, operations, business, and ecosystem partners.
  • Highly organized, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple work streams under tight timelines.
  • Ability to integrate concept-to-production requirements into a clear execution strategy across AMD and partner teams.
