1 Meadow cares for acutely ill and post-operative patients, with a focus on caring for cardiac and comfort measure patients. We care for many types of patients that are admitted to the hospital. Some of the general surgery patients that we care for require smaller surgical procedures, such as: laparoscopic surgeries, incision and debridement, wound closures, etc. The other types of patients we care for are admitted with urinary tract infections, pneumonia, uncontrolled blood sugars, wounds, etc. We have a concentration in caring for comfort measure patients. We provide a caring environment for our end of life patients and provide support to their families. Patient safety is our number one priority. We also stress the importance of patient and family communication and working with our interdisciplinary teammates to ensure a smooth hospital stay, as well as a timely discharge. The Licensed Practical Nurse performs direct and indirect patient care functions under the direction of the RN. This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service and excellent nursing care, participating in quality improvement initiatives and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation. Under delegation of the RN, the LPN will assist in the delivery of quality care according to the individual needs of the patient, administer medications and treatments, and observe and record patient conditions and response to medications and treatments. The LPN will contribute to the overall quality metrics of their assigned unit. QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited Practical Nurse school of nursing.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Current BLS required.
The LPN will be expected to enroll in an RN program within 2 years of hire and attain RN licensure within 5 years of hire required.
EXPERIENCE: Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and collaborate with other team members; ability to be flexible, prioritize care, time management, critically think and use proper judgment in difficult situations required..
