Job Description

IT Service Manager provides operational oversight for all technicians in the Enterprise Control Center. The Service Manager is responsible for the availability of all production systems and acting as a single point of contact for all high priority production outages. This position is part of a 24x7 Enterprise control Center environment. Shift and workday flexibility is required

The ideal candidate for this position is an expert managing supporting a highly complex, diverse and geographically dispersed organization. Experience with root cause analysis a candidate for this position will have a minimum of 5 years work experience in the required skills areas. Leads all priority 1 and 2 incidents calls and manages to service restoration and manage the escalation process to the appropriate senior level management.

  • Manage department adherence to BAE SYSTEMS's Incident & Change Management process
  • Direct large group of support staff to maintain BAE SYSTEMS's global IT infrastructure availability
  • Manage operations, strategic planning, dispatch and user services, including troubleshooting, device status and IT infrastructure restoration
  • Ensure smooth operation of facility in all functional areas and ensure any issues are resolved quickly and efficiently
  • Prioritize issues and coordinate the escalation and service issues between all functional areas.
  • Creates and distributes daily availability reports to senior IT management that track problem status and resolution
  • Background with disaster recovery practices and concepts
  • Proven ability to document and maintain stringent change management controls over the IT environment




Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 6 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education
IT Environment Experience:


Windows Server (Active Directory, DNS, IIS, FTP, Exchange)

Network and System Monitoring

CA Technologies Spectrum and Service Operations Insight (SOI)

Disaster Recovery, MS SQL Server , MS Office

Unix, Red Hat Linux

Cisco networking topologies, protocols, VOIP, transport management

Preferred Skills and Education
Advanced knowledge of network and server technologies (Routers, Switches, VOIP, Packet Captures, Windows, Unix and Linux )

Experience with storage data replication technologies

Experience with Network and Systems monitoring using CA suite of tools

Experience with information systems auditing and security
