Identify, develop,evaluate, present & support engineering projects, rejection reports &improvements to meet near term & long-range quality requirements forengineering/manufacturing. Lead &provide Technical direction to several projects. Remain current & be aleader in technical specialty in order to anticipate, apply, adapt or developtechnologies for product re-engineering, quality, performance, costimprovements & problems resolution. Support int & extcustomers/suppliers as required.
Providemechanical design support and expertise to ESP Systems Group (Motors) under theguidance and instruction of the Mechanical Engineering Manager.
Support thecontinuous improvement of the mechanical aspects of existing completionequipment and downhole telemetry systems by;
- Workingwith engineering and operational colleagues to assess potential improvementsdriven by client feedback and feedback from the fieldImplementingdesign changes as requiredDemonstratingthe suitability and robustness of design changes via calculation and analysisDemonstratingchanges implemented are in accordance with relevant codes of practice (whereapplicable)Productionof design reports
Support theproduction department where required.
Support BH newproduct development with guidance from the Mechanical Engineering Manager by;
- Productionof mechanical / structural componentry design, including relevant calculations/ assessment to codes of practice, in support of the new development /telemetry systems Productionof conceptual designs for new completion equipment and downhole toolsDevelopand optimise conceptual designs through simulationProduceprototype designs and support manufactureProductionof design reportsProducetest plans and coordinate new product testing Productionof test reportsCoordinatecommercialization of completed designs
- Bachelor's degree in MechanicalEngineering or other relevant technical degree (Mechatronics, Electronic, etc)with equivalent experience. 5 - 8+ years' experience working ina similar role (Experience including the design of oilfield (preferablydownhole) equipment is a plus). Good understanding of mechanical /structural analytical and numerical design techniques Good understanding of basic fluidmechanics and pipeline hydraulicsConversant with Solidworks/NXmodelling software English Level for fluentCommunication.
- Good understanding ofelectrical machines.Self-driven with apositive attitude to new challenges. Comfortable working alone and within teamsExcellent verbal andwritten communication skills. EnglishLevel for fluent communication.Conversant with theAnsys suite of simulation software including Mechanical and FluentExperience in the designof: Motors/generators, rotative machines, etc. An understanding of thevarious artificial lift techniques employed in the recovery of hydrocarbonsworldwideAwareness of relevantcodes / standards, for example: API 11B, NACE MR0175 / 0176, ASME Y14.5, ASMEVIII, ASME BTH1 etc.
