Role Summary:

The Senior Project Manager demonstrates accountability forfunctional, business, and broad company objectives for the Drilling Platform.In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needsacross the organization, manage complex issues within functional areas ofexpertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overallbusiness strategy.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Lead theengineering, procurement, manufacturing and quality teams to deliver complexdrilling systems

  • Serve asthe primary customer contact for the duration of each project throughcommissioning.

  • Resolvespecification issues, handle correspondence, provide periodic updates, ensurecustomer satisfaction, and negotiate / coordinate with staff as appropriate

  • Manageproject risk issues including receivables, claims, contract changes, marginenhancement, and effective project closeout

  • Leadproject team through a regular system of contract reviews to identify &manage risks, monitor operational performance against the agreed timelines, andinstigates corrective action where appropriate

  • Championof all aspects of service quality & technical delivery of all projects

  • Responsiblefor all financial aspects of project management including the establishment ofsystems to regularly review costs, invoicing, and cash collection

  • Ensurecompliance with all corporate commercial practices and standards

  • Managematrix team of 20-30 employees covering the functions of project resourceplanning, equipment preparation & mobilization, applications engineering,field operations, data analysis & customer reporting, purchasing, andproject accounts

  • Lead theproject teams to effectively execute projects through the use of projectroutines in the areas of engineering, procurement, and construction

  • Coordinateresolution of issues through the use of change management and ensure timelycollection of monies

  • Immediatelyafter project completion, facilitate the quantification and documentation ofproject performance with both the project team and customer

  • Bachelor'sdegree in engineering from an accredited university or college (electrical ormechanical)

  • At least7 years of Oil & Gas industry experience in project management, preferablyin the delivery of engineering services within a commercial environment

  • Demonstratedcompetency in using standard project management tools

  • Executivelevel presentation skills

  • Able towrite clear project specifications, give clear instructions, and communicatewith customers of all levels of an organization

  • ProjectManagement certification

  • Functional/ Project leadership experience in a global environment

  • Strongorganizational, analytical, and problem solving abilities

Desired Characteristics:
  • Experiencemanaging large EPC projects for the Oil & Gas sector

  • Familiarwith modern project management techniques & software systems, includingglobal resource planning systems

  • Master'sdegree preferred

  • Committedto maintaining the highest standards of service quality in all aspects ofproject delivery

  • Demonstratedability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Experiencewith Primavera project management software

  • Familiarwith contract terms

  • Strongoral and written communications skills

  • Stronginterpersonal and leadership skills
