Job Definition Scope of Position:
​Clinical Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the clinical daily activities of their area. This includes: assisting the Clinical Leader and Director with the delivery of quality nursing services; development, revision, and compliance with policies and procedures; Participating in performance improvement activities; Performing timely performance evaluations of all personnel at least annually; Assist with education and orientation of new team members; commends and counsels personnel in a timely manner; participates in financial management of the unit to identify and implement cost savings measures.  This person shall possess a thorough knowledge of nursing standards and policy and procedures, Assist in providing guidance to nursing staff to assure that they practice within established guidelines and standards. Serves as a resource for staff in new developments of policies, procedures, and performance improvement plans. Provides direct care nursing services as needed.  This position will demonstrate competency in the care of neonate, infant, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations.

It is vital that an individual in this position be capable of good communication skills. It is of the utmost importance that written communication is legible.

​See Table of Organization. C. Education Experience:
​Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Currently licensed as a professional nurse by the state in which the individual practices. Minimum of 2 years experience in a hospital setting, preferred.  Experience in their specialty area required.  Proficient in computer skills. Baccalaureate or Masters is preferred. D. Physical Requirements:
​Able to handle heavy materials or patients. Physical demands greater than moderate may require knowledge of use of appropriate equipment and operation of various machines.  Must be able to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and physicians. Requires close mental, visual, and auditory attention in all phases of activities. E. Working Conditions:
​Demonstrate ability to establish priorities, work under pressure deadlines, and deal with multiple assignments.  Stress levels are high due to frequently dealing with physicians, anesthesia, other health care providers, patients and families. ]]>
