Description: The Menninger Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Baylor College of Medicine seeks outstanding physician-scientist applicants for a new faculty member specializing in PTSD research in the Beth K. and Stuart C. Yudofsky Division of Neuropsychiatry.
This position comes with substantial resources, including endowed funds, and start-up funding. The Division of Neuropsychiatry includes five endowed chair positions with complementary faculty expertise in behavioral neuroscience, neuromodulation, brain imaging, and brain injury medicine. The faculty member will also be encouraged to collaborate with faculty members across other departments (e.g., Neurosurgery, Neurology and Neuroscience) and to utilize resources throughout the School of Medicine, including resources located within the Brain Imaging Center, such as a research-dedicated Siemens Prisma 3T scanner. The primary faculty appointment will be in the Department of Psychiatry with the possibility of dual appointments other departments at Baylor College of Medicine, as appropriate.Job Duties
Responsibilities will include establishing an independent translational research program in PTSD, trauma, and related disorders. A major focus of the applicant will be to forge new collaborations with Division and College investigators, mentor/supervise trainees, and oversee academic activities.Minimum Qualifications
• MD or MD/PhD and eligibility for a Texas medical license
• History as a successful clinician-researcher in clinical, translational, or basic research with a strong record of extramural federal funding
• Board-certified in Psychiatry, Neurology, or Neuropsychiatry
• Current NIH funding will be given highest priority
