Baystate Health (BH), western Massachusetts's premier healthcare provider and home to the University of Massachusetts Medical School – Baystate is seeking an IRB Analyst or Coordinator to join our Research Administration team at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA.
Our research administrative team help researchers conduct research responsibly and ethically. IRB Analyst Summary: The IRB Analyst functions as a resource to research investigators and staff. The IRB Analyst is responsible for providing clear and accurate instructions, guidance, and support to researchers through the entire regulatory process. This includes assistance in creating successful and compliant applications for Institutional Review Board (IRB) review. The IRB Analyst is responsible for analyzing all submissions to the IRB for completeness, accuracy, ethical and regulatory compliance. The IRB Analyst is responsible for IRB record retention. The IRB Analyst is responsible for maintaining complete IRB protocol files.

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of administrative experience in an IRB setting.
- Knowledge of research administration, institutional review boards, or human subject protections required.
- Requires the analytical skills to resolve complex problems requiring the use of scientific, mathematical, or technical principles and in‑depth, experience‑based cross‑functional knowledge.
- Work requires the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.
- Certified IRB Professional (CIP) certification preferred
