The Syndicated Data Insights Analyst will lead the deployment, adoption and management of syndicated market data within Bed Bath & Beyond Marketing, partnering with our research counterparts in Merchandising to understand how our customers shop individual categories and the store, overall. The Syndicated Data Analyst will partner with syndicated market data providers like IRI, NPD and Nielsen to manage data-sharing and develop methodologies to integrate syndicated sales data, transactional data and analytics into actionable insights to create, drive and improve ongoing marketing initiatives.
This Analyst is part of the Consumer Insights Team – a team responsible for delivering deep understanding of the customer, including behaviors, wants and needs, via strong integration of quantitative, qualitative, syndicated and secondary information to produce deep understanding of the customer, ensuring that the Voice of the Customer is represented in every decision in the organization to drive the BBBY businesses forward.
Act as the primary point of contact for syndicated market data providers for the BBBY Marketing team.
Be a strong research partner to the syndicated data experts in Merchandising, On-line Shopping and with the Data and Analytics team, to ensure an integrated understanding of how customers shop our categories, channels, programs and services and socialize that holistic understanding through the Marketing organization so customer facing initiatives are cohesive across all functions, i.e. help ensure that all customer facing decisions made across functions are using the same playbook/information to create a seamless experience to shoppers.
Serve as a Bed Bath & Beyond subject matter expert for syndicated market data, building knowledge and understanding among marketing stakeholders on the access, use and analysis of syndicated data, i.e. help the organization self-serve syndicated data, as appropriate.
Collaborate with marketing leadership and partners to understand key business questions, develop an analytical approach, leveraging appropriate, available data to address them with actionable insights and recommendations to drive measurable impact across the business.
Design and develop standardized reporting and manage ad hoc projects to help leadership across the organization understand customer perceptions of market, category and product performance.
Understand and share key market/product trends impacting the industry and business.
Leverage syndicated data to identify opportunities to improve the customer shopping experience and work with business partners to develop action plans to address those opportunities.
Partner with syndicated market data providers and internal data analytics team to develop a comprehensive view of customer shopping behavior including basket analysis, decision tree analysis, trip type, leakage, etc.
Integrate syndicated data into primary research findings to create a multi-dimensional view of customer behavior overall and by category including purchase funnel, purchase frequency, channel usage, etc.
Develop and manage an ongoing store-centric research study to understand and track in-store customer experience while leveraging syndicated and internal sales data to identify actionable insights.
2 years of experience with syndicated data from providers like NPD, IRI and Nielsen in a retail or CPG setting
3 years of experience in Consumer Insights, Customer Experience or other research function
Curious, analytical, impact driven, persistent, willing to share thoughts and drive consensus around action
Ability to gather, interpret, integrate and synthesize insights from disparate data sources
Experience with Excel, Access, and Tableau (good to have); ability to manipulate data and draw insights from large datasets
Can effectively translate data and analysis to insights and action steps that drive measurable results
Ability to communicate and present to all levels of the organization
Driven to understand the “why” behind the data
Microsoft Excel and Power Point proficiency is a must
Bachelor's degree required
