JOB SUMMARY:


Supervises the activities of the pressroom staff assigned to that shift. Supervisor will
oversee the job setups and coordinate the order of jobs based on schedule and
priority.



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


  1. Schedules,
    oversees and monitors the daily work of the
    press crew, oversees the production of all day press runs and ensures
    quality of product, timely production and minimal waste.

  2. Coordinates
    special section print schedules

  3. Responsible
    for planning and coordinating pressroom schedules.

  4. Ensures
    press units are set up properly and ready for each run.

  5. Ensures
    all company safety and other rules regulations are followed by press staff on a
    daily basis, recommends disciplinary action when necessary.

  6. Participates
    in determining departmental budgeting process.

  7. Carries
    out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's
    policies, procedures, and standards and follows applicable regulations.

  8. Responsible
    for maintaining discretion concerning content of ads and advance knowledge of
    ads to be run, confidentiality of any/and all related information or issues,
    projected budgeted information, future organizational plans, and trainee
    progression and personnel matters.




    MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    1.
    Assists in special projects as needed.

    2.All other duties as assigned.

    DIRECT REPORTS:

    Abinet,
    Intranet press reports, flowsheet, quality copies, Skid tags


    NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:


  1. Ability to follow all Company policies
    and procedures including but not limited to attendance standards.

  2. Drivers license preferred

  3. Ability to interpret insructions
    furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

  4. Ability to read, write and communicate
    simple instructions, short correspondence

  5. Ability to read, interpret and
    communicate effectively safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions,
    and procedure manuals

  6. Ability to calculate figures involving
    simple fractions

  7. Ability to use various mechanical hand
    tools

  8. Strong mechanical skill and the
    ability to detect and determine problems, make minor and major repairs
    involving complex mechanical systems including press units and relatedequipment.

  9. The ability and skill to effectively
    communicate and interact personally and by telephone with staff, other
    departments and other employees of the organization professionally

  10. Ability to work in a team environment
    is essential

  11. Ability to solve practical problems
    and deal with variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
    and apply creative solutions to daily operational problems when required.

  12. Ability to apply common sense
    understanding and experience to carry out defined procedures and moderately
    complex furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.

  13. Trains staff and maintains safety
    measures are taken when training staff on equipment

  14. Adjusts the shift schedule according
    to work load schedule on a week to week basis


    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    High School Diploma or GED
