The Advertising Graphic Designer is responsible for creating and producing ad materials to be published in A variety of Print and Digital publications and for preparing spec.
layouts, section and Direct Mail.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Produce layouts, art and copy suitable for BH Media production system.
Generate new and creative ideas in the form of spec layouts for BH Media advertisers.
Work closely with account executives in generating specs and production roughs acceptable to advertising clients.
Assist advertising personnel in coordinating ad materials into and through BH Media production system.
Have a working knowledge of PC systems and be able to use graphics software to produce advertising materials.
Have a working knowledge of how to search for and retrieve ad materials and information from the Internet.
Assist the Creative Services Supervisor and Advertising Group Manager in keeping accurate records of work done in order to assure all chargeable work is billed to the proper account.
Assist in other BH Media projects as requested by the Advertising or the Creative Services supervisor.
Use company-wide communications tools for e-mail and be able to navigate on the company network.
Operate PC computers to produce newspaper and digital ads, including typing of text materials and producing graphics.
Scan materials and do retouch work for use in computers.
Figure percentages for reduction and enlargement of art
File and maintain client ad materials and department clip art materials electronically and in a hard copy form
Help maintain department work log.
Operate Adobe – InDesign, Illustrator, Photshop computers to produce newspaper ads, and other collateral producing graphics.
Can materials and do retouch work for use in computers.
Complete illustrations by hand and by computer.
Obtain art supplies when unavailable through normal News & Advance supply channel.
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of customer relations theory and practices.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Associates degree in graphic arts or fine arts or equivalent work experience.
