Apply expertise in principles, practices, and current developments related to public health epidemiology, including data collection, analysis, interpretation, and chronic or infectious disease prevention. Provide scientific advice, support, and technical assistance to various public health agencies that involve established scientific and technical methods. Prepare written reports, PowerPoint presentations, and other communications on surveillance and epidemiologic data, analytics, and research studies. Present technical expertise and comprehension to a broad audience and train junior staff.
-8+ years of experience with epidemiology or public health
-Experience with statistical techniques and software used in epidemiologic analysis, including SAS, R, or CRM
-Experience with developing and coordinating the sharing of educational or informational health materials, including reports and scientific abstracts, manuscripts, and responses to inquiries
-Ability to support active national and international infectious disease and public health surveillance programs and analytics for research projects and studies
-Ability to support the creation of databases and data sets by working closely with developers and statisticians
-Ability to develop study design and implementation, including protocol development, ethical review and approval, data collection and management, statistical analysis, and production of presentations
-PhD degree in Epidemiology or Public Health required
-Experience with working on influenza viral strain epidemiology preferred
