Analyze and implement logistics plans that may affect the production, distribution, and inventory of finished products to enhance product flow. Analyze the development of policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure quality and cost control. Conduct distribution and network studies, monitor inventory, and analyze requirements to develop strategies to achieve desired delivery times and order fill rates. Maintain appropriate records and prepare reports. Coordinate logistics activities with internal and external customers. Apply expertise in the principles, practices, and procedures of the particular field of specialization to the completion of difficult assignments. Work with minimum supervision while conferring on unusual matters with a superior.
-Experience with inventory management control
-Experience with material receipt and inspection
-Experience with the management of minor property in accordance with Navy requirements for government assets
-Experience in procurement and acquisition, including how to read a contract, research pricing and availability of material, communicate and coordinate with vendors and obtain quotes in a timely manner, update all procurement documentation and manage the procurement status, and provide the PM with weekly procurement reports
-Knowledge of shipping material using a freight forwarder, including packing and shipping material for international locations, how to use the CMPRo database to process shipments, and maintain a complete inventory of shipments, DD1149s, and airway bills
-Knowledge of the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for HAZMAT material
-Ability to coordinate and communicate with a geographically and internationally dispersed team effectively
-BA or BS degree or 5+ years of experience with logistics and acquisitions
