Design, fabricate, modify, and evaluate complicated and difficult mechanical and electro-mechanical components, sub-systems, and systems. Prepare design specifications, analyses, and recommendations for presentation and approval. Maintain technical responsibility for planning, organizing, and conducting technical projects or phases of projects involving the design and development of new or improved product or processes. Investigate solutions to product or process problems and consolidate the results of mechanical design elements for assigned projects. Coordinate the efforts of drafters, designers, engineering technicians, and machine shop personnel, as required by assigned projects. Conduct independent technical investigations involving the origination or modification of material, component or process specifications, and requirements. Provide work leadership to junior employees, as needed.
-5+ years of experience with project engineering, management, or construction
-Experience with federal regulations, applicable codes, and industry standards, including American National Standards Institute-American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ANSI/ASHRAE)
-Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
-Experience with the review of construction drawings prepared by others
-Ability to demonstrate excellent client service from daily interaction
-Ability to comprehend and adopt non-US standard design and construction means and methods
-Ability to obtain a security clearance
-BS degree in Mechanical Engineering
-Experience with the development and review of technical requirements, concepts, principles, standards, and methods to ensure the mechanical engineering and fire protection portion of building construction and land development projects are designed and constructed in accordance with the required operational and functional criteria
-Experience with laboratories
