Surface to Surface Missile Systems Engineer, Senior

Key Role:

Develop and apply advanced systems methods, theories, and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex and advanced technical problems. You'll plan, conduct, and technically direct projects and major phases of significant projects, coordinating the efforts of technical support staff in the performance of assigned projects. You'll analyze, evaluate, and plan methods of approach and organization to achieve solutions to complex technical problems. You'll review project progress, evaluate results, and recommend corrections in technical applications and analysis. You'll evaluate vendor capabilities to provide required products or services. You'll provide technical consultation to technical staff or other organizations.

You'll perform requirements analysis, requirements definition, requirements management, functional analysis, performance analysis, system design, detail trade studies, systems integration and test, validation and interface definition studies of system, subsystem and system elements with minimal supervision of the lead systems engineer. You'll participate in technical planning, cost and risk analyses, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for subsystems and system elements. You'll develop system requirements and define allocations to lower levels, including subsystem and elements and components. You'll perform detailed technical analyses for a system, subsystem, and system elements, identify schedule and cost risks, develop and execute mitigation plans for systems and system requirements at risk, and identify action items needed to resolve programmatic and technical difficulties. You'll perform reviews and assessments to ensure products meet Hazards of Electromagnetic Radiation to Ordnance (HERO) and Personnel (HERP) and Electrical Explosives Safety requirements. You'll oversee preparations for Weapon System Explosive Safety Review Board (WSESRB) reviews, coordination and conduct of Failure Review Boards (FRBs), and work closely with other technical and engineering subject matter experts (SMEs), along with ship designer agents to ensure proposed industry solutions and designs are both cost-effective and meet all technical requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

-10+ years of experience in systems engineering with U.S. Navy over-the-horizon (OTH) surface-to-surface missiles (SSMs) design and production related to the Naval Strike Missile (NSM), TOMAHAWK, or Harpoon systems

-Ability to comprehend complex technical problems where capabilities are affected by technical achievability, affordability, and schedule

-Top Secret clearance

-BS degree in Engineering

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience in tactical missile design principles, system performance modeling and analysis, flight dynamics, and Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC)

-Experience with radio frequency (RF), optical, and passive sensors technologies, fuzing technologies, warhead design, energetics, propulsion, Technology Insertion and Agile development processes, modeling and simulation, parts engineering, reliability engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and structural analysis,

-Experience with environmental stress screening (ESS) test requirements, production engineering and test, and development or operational test and evaluation (DT/OT&E) efforts

-Experience with Model–Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)

-Experience with combat and weapon system integration or operations of an integrated U.S. Navy surface ship combat system

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Top Secret clearance is required.
