Data Scientist

Key Role:

Support tradecraft development by providing expertise in methodology design, implementation, and deployment, tool evaluation and development, and data preparation and formatting. Maintain responsibility for identifying, capturing, integrating, properly formatting, and displaying data and quantitative results, including statistical and machine learning results for consumption or interpretation by the client's open source community, including senior leaders in support of open source requirements. Provide methodology development, tool evaluation or development, and process design or management support to the client in coordination with client directorates and subordinate service component commands. Integrate and synchronize efforts to assist with deepening collaboration with allies and partner nations or developing their capacities to meet theater priorities and counter security threats.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience with data science or analytics delivery in a consulting role

  • 5+ years of experience with programming languages, including Python/PySpark, R, and Scala

  • 2+ years of experience with open source intelligence

  • Experience with an Apache Spark distributed processing platform, including Databricks or Zeppelin

  • Experience assembling large, complex sets of data that meet mission requirements

  • Experience building analytical tools to utilize the data pipeline, providing actionable insight into mission areas

  • Experience performing data analysis and deriving, interpreting, and explaining statistical information to inform analysts and leaders

  • Experience applying and tuning ML models to multiple intelligence datasets using standard tools and libraries, including MLlib, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • Bachelor's degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience working in an Agile environment

  • Experience working at a Combatant Command

  • Experience with Atlassian Jira and Confluence

  • Knowledge of data commonly generated and used for analysis within various intelligence disciplines, including GEOINT and SIGINT, and both publicly and commercially available information (PAI/CAI)

  • Master's degree

  • Databricks Apache Spark Developer Associate Certification
