LIMS Business Analyst
Applies broad understanding of the principles of computer and information science to the advancement of life sciences research and public health, including informatics, laboratory processes and operations. Applies specific functional knowledge in biological sciences to develop comprehensive requirements and collaborates with software engineers, testers, and project managers to design and implement IT solutions for laboratories. Works independently with some guidance including prioritizing tasks and managing time between multiple efforts simultaneously. This position is a hybrid role with a combination of working at a Booz Allen office or client site and working remotely.
1+ years of experience gathering requirements and translating them into system specifications for laboratory information management system (LIMS) development and system implementations, including documenting requirements in software development collaboration platforms, creating process maps and mockups
2+ years of experience developing professional client-ready deliverables, including reports and PowerPoint presentations
2+ years of experience with technical writing
Knowledge of biological laboratory assays
Knowledge of the software delivery lifecycle and Agile practices
Ability to use verbal and written expertise to communicate system functionality and business and system requirements with laboratory end-users, software engineers, and software testers
Ability to learn new IT systems quickly, conduct root cause analysis, and apply system knowledge to offer consultations on how the LIMS can be used to improve laboratory processes
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
Experience with facilitating User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Experience training end-users in a complex software application
Experience with writing queries and creating reports using SQL
Experience with developing data visualizations and dashboards using Microsoft PowerBI
Experience with federal or state health agencies
Experience writing grant or business proposals
Ability to coordinate projects and initiatives
Agile or Certified Scrum Master Certification
