Must have an Associate's degree, diploma, or Bachelor of Science degree from an approved Nursing Program prior to employment and have a current Michigan RN license in good standing. Must be an organized, dependable nurse, who possesses excellent customer service, communication, and documentation skills. Must have strong critical thinking skills, have good organizational skills, enjoy patient teaching, and support Family-Centered Care Philosophy. Patient-centered care is provided by a multidisciplinary team. The pace is fast and unpredictable. Orientation will require up to 12 weeks of working full-time hours, based upon competencies mastered by each individual. Employees hired into a Registered Nurse position at Bronson on or after 12/29/13 are asked to sign an education agreement, committing to obtain a BSN degree within five years of acquiring a nursing position. Under general supervision and in accordance with the policies, procedures and guidelines established within the organization, the unit, and the Michigan Public Health Code, the registered nurse manages the care delivery for patients in the organization throughout the length of stay to achieve quality outcomes and timely discharge. Week-ends and Holidays may be required during increased volume and/or staffing concerns. Mental & Visual Fatigue: Work which produces high levels of mental/visual fatigue, e.g., interactive and repetitive or small detailed work requiring alertness and concentration for sustained periods of time, the operation of and full attention to a personal computer or CRT between 40 and 70 percent of the time Physical Effort: Involves regularly lifting of bulky or moderately heavy weights (i.e., up to 50 pounds) and occasionally assisting with heavier tasks or expending the equivalent effort in pushing, pulling, or otherwise handling material, equipment and other objects. Life Support Certification: ACLS, PALS, NRP


ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire. TNCC and NRP within 1 year of hire.
