Job Description:

The Student Support Services Coordinator plays a critical role in cultivating an inclusive and welcoming campus community by providing administrative management and direct student support to Brown University undergraduate and graduate students. The Coordinator ensures administrative operations run efficiently and smoothly, providing the highest level of service to meet the needs of students, parents, faculty, and staff in the Brown community. The Coordinator triages students seeking support via phone, email and in-person and provides initial referral of students in crisis. This position manages the medical leave of absence process and the corollary clearance to return process for students on university leave. This position provides case management for the university's concussion protocols, including coordination with University Health Services, Student Accessibility Services, and Athletics. This position helps to oversee the front desk area and supports the Administrative Coordinator position, including providing lunch and vacation coverage. This position helps to ensure administrative functions and sensitive student intake is carried out in a timely and efficient manner. The Coordinator oversees the Student Support records system, department budget and financial tasks, including Workday roles of Cost Center Report Reviewer, Financial and HR Coordinator, Time Tracking, and Absence Partner.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 years administrative office experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to learn new technology systems (e.g. databases) and ability to produce tracking reports required.
