Job Description:

This position assists in the execution of technical lighting elements for TAPS Sock & Buskin mainstage Theatre & Dance production season and other departmental events as assigned. Events shall take place in various University venues, including the Ashamu Dance Studio Leeds Theatre, and Stuart Theatre.

The ideal candidate is positive, self-motivated, organized, collaborative and professional. 

This position is an as-needed position, based on the production schedule of the TAPS department. Average of 18 hours per week with a 3-hour minimum call-in. Theatre Technician will be scheduled by the TAPS Production Director as needed during the months of September – May (academic year).


Education & Experience Required:

●    Associate's degree and 1-2 years of relevant  theatrical/stage production and maintenance experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
●    Experience working with theatrical lighting and sound systems, and a firm understanding of digital audio and video routing technologies. 
●    Experience programming the ETC ION lighting board.
●    Experience with Lightwright, Vector works, Q-Lab, and like products is helpful. 
●    Demonstrated ability to support a community of diverse perspectives and cultures in an inclusive environment.
