Summary
Heavy Duty Cleaning Specialist is responsible deep cleaning of their assigned area. This role is essential for ensuring a safe, sanitary, and visually appealing environment for both guests and staff. The Heavy Duty Cleaning Specialist will apply advanced cleaning techniques, which include sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, mopping floors, wiping walls, cleaning vents, removing fingerprints and smudges from mirrors and glass, shining surfaces. Will operate heavy-duty cleaning equipment, such as floor scrubbers, buffers, carpet extractors, ride-on vacuums, scissors lift, ladders, etc. used for proper maintenance of a variety of surfaces and work-related environments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Operate a range of heavy-duty machinery, including pressure washers, floor scrubbers, floor waxing tools, carpet extractors, while ensuring that equipment is maintained to optimal performance standards.
Execute thorough cleaning operations to eliminate deep-seated dirt, grime, and debris from floors, walls, ceilings, and hard-to-reach areas, employing specialized cleaning equipment and methods tailored to each surface.
Maintains the cleanliness of assigned areas.
Utilizes equipment such as pan and broom, vacuum, Unger kits, small scrubbers, etc.
Adheres to all safety guidelines, including the use of protective equipment.
Utilize cleaning agents, degreaser, etc., in compliance with health and safety regulations and safety data sheets (SDS) guidelines, ensuring the safe management of chemicals.
Exhibits a cooperative demeanor when interacting with peers, supervisors, and guests.
Perform duties in a timely and efficient manner.
Compliance with all department and property operating policies and procedures.
Communicates problems, challenges, or unusual matters of significance to the supervisor.
Informs supervision of needed support, supplies, or repairs.
Supports and complies with courtesy and customer service guidelines, policies, and procedures.
Ensures all storage areas and carts are clean and organized.
Communicates effectively with guests, team members, and management.
Ensures safety and security policies and procedures are followed.
Will be trained and must operate scissor lift equipment and adhere to all safety standards.
Good time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

Experience and/or Education
Up to one year of related experience or training. Must have a strong understanding and working knowledge of cleaning chemicals, cleaning techniques, and cleaning equipment.
Age Requirements
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Position holders may, at times, be required to drive company vehicles. Position holders may, at times, be required to crawl under secured items. Position holders will commonly use heavy-duty power equipment such as power washers, honing machines, etc. The position holder must possess the physical endurance necessary to perform demanding tasks that could involve going up to 40 feet high using specialized machinery.
