This employee-oriented, flexible employer is hiring a full time, permanent Field Service Technician for Programmable Logic Controls (PLCs), instrumentation, variable frequency drives, and motor starters. After one year of employment, employees have the ability to work from home as everything the company does is electronic. The company provides many employee events throughout the year. In 50 years of existence, there has not been one downturn or layoff. The company is very employee-friendly and family-friendly and as a result employee tenure is well over 20 years. Employees get along with each other very well and are always willing to help one another. Employees are not bored as the same product is not made over and over and employees are not stuck at their desks all day. This successful candidate will work four days per week for ten hours per day. All field service work will be within 90 miles of Dane County. The duties and responsibilities of the successful candidate should include the following:

  • Installing, startup, training, and repairing PLC's, variable frequency drives, motor starters and instrumentation
  • Traveling up to 90% (all travel is within 90 miles of Monroe)
  • Communicating and interacting with customers and vendors
  • Maintaining and modifying existing process control systems
  • Modifying and troubleshooting variable frequency drives, motor starters and instrumentation
  • Working with design and software engineers

Successful candidates should have the following attributes:
  • One year of experience with PLC and HMI platforms
  • Strong electrical knowledge and troubleshooting skills
  • An ability to read ladder logic drawings
  • A high level of motivation
  • An ability to work independently
Preferred but not required backgrounds may include any of the following:
  • An Electrical Engineering or Controls Engineering degree
  • Skilled with hand tools
  • Mechanically inclined
