Summary ofEssential Job Duties

Working underdirect supervision Pramod Butte, MBBS, PhD, the Research Associate II performsroutine and increasingly complex laboratory tasks and procedures and developstechnical expertise in diagnostic system development in the department ofneurosurgery.

The Research Associate IIwill participate in research activities involving all aspects of the researchprocess, to include, but not limited to; investigation, technical,testing/validation of results, and report findings.

The Associate will perform a variety ofroutine experimental protocols and procedures to support the objectives oflaboratory research projects.

TheAssociate will observe and comply with safety standards and procedures, assistin preparation of data for publication and/or presentation at scholarlymeetings, and assist in general laboratory maintenance.

This position does not have supervisoryresponsibilities.


In addition to routinetasks, the Associate will:

Assist indevelopment and manufacturing of prototype systems.

Assist incollecting experimental data using time resolved fluorescence system in theoperating room or in the laboratory.

Maintain recordof all experimental work.

Manageexperimental data generated in the lab.

Analyze dataand execute programs for data analyses.

Ensure surgicalequipment/devices are setup before the procedure and meet sterility and safetyguidelines/policies.

Ensure thelaboratory is organized and meets health and safety guidelines.


EducationalRequirements

Bachelor ofScience or associates Degree in engineering sciences and/or biologicalsciences.


Experience

Two (2) yearsof laboratory experience. Understandingof general research objectives. Familiarwith routine laboratory procedures, experimental protocols, and overall laborganization. Working knowledge ofdatabase management, personal computers, and presentation and imaging software,including but not limited to Excel and Word. Must be highly motivated and able to work independently. Must havesuperior interpersonal, communication and organization skills and the abilityto work across company disciplines and functional units, and computerapplication experience. Ability to simultaneously manage multiple clerical trials,and attention to details.

Ability tolearn additional skills in video editing and image manipulation and dataprocessing (using python). Experience with Linux, micro-controllers, cabling,soldering, metal works, CNC machining, fabrication technologies, electricalcircuits, in-depth programming preferred.
