Central Garden & Pet, a manufacturer of pet and garden products, is searching for a Demand Planner to support the Garden Controls team in Atlanta, GA to meet sales and service objectives through forecasting and inventory planning.   • Generate accurate forecasts by customer, item, and location using forecasting systems/tools

  • Maintain settings and parameters in the forecast system

  • Assemble and analyze all data pertinent to creating the sales forecast (historical sales, market trends, seasonality, promotions, and inventory levels)

  • Facilitate a portion of the monthly S&OP meeting with Business Teams to review recommended sales forecasts by customer and communicate any risks or opportunities to forecast

  • Monitor SKU levels and recommend future SKU rationalization initiatives

  • Measure and explain the impact of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) within the S&OP process, to include: Forecast Accuracy, Inventory levels, On-time delivery, and Fill Rate

  • Proactively facilitate and re-engineer best practices & consensus between functional experts (Demand Planning, Purchasing, Sales & Marketing, Operations)

  • Pull forecast consumption and other related forecast reports on a regular basis to complete forecast analysis

  • Facilitate cross functional monthly forecast calls

  • Attend Supply Review meetings and New Product Development meetings regularly

  • Complete other activities as assigned


  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Math, Business Administration, or another relevant field

  • 0-3 years' experience in master scheduling, forecasting, and planning

  • Strong analytical abilities

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Positive attitude, must be a self-starter and able to work in teams

  • Detail-oriented, hands-on problem solver

  • Experience with DRP/MRP/SAP functionality is a plus

  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
