Our Pet Segment is searching for a Lead Maintenance Technician in our Neptune City, NJ office. The Lead Maintenance Technician will be responsible for handling the electrical and mechanical projects for our facilities, equipment troubleshooting, repair, preventative maintenance, and directing the maintenance team.
MEASURES OF SUCCESS
- Supervise maintenance and electrical mechanics in their daily activities of performing preventative maintenance, corrective actions, and equipment installations.
Enforces all safety rules and regulations as well as company policy
Ensures all employees in their charge are productive, complete assignments and adhere to procedure.
Troubleshoots and repairs various manufacturing equipment.
Performs the more complex plumbing, electrical and carpentry maintenance and repairs such as replacing solenoid valves, switches, relays, and thermostats, rewiring appliances, constructing partitions and small out buildings, and installing plumbing pipe and related plumbing fixtures.
Performs general painting, plumbing, electrical and carpentry repairs, such as unstopping clogged sinks, drains, and garbage disposals, resetting circuit breakers, replacing cord caps, buffer switches, and light switches; makes minor repairs to heating, refrigeration, air conditioning units, and other electrical equipment; repairs damaged walls and doors; paints inside and outside building walls; replaces windows; refinishes and repairs furniture.
Uses power and hand tools to perform repair and maintenance work.
Operates forklifts, dollies, and other basic loading and unloading equipment as required.
Drives trucks to transport materials such as furniture, supplies, or equipment as required.
Services equipment used by oiling, greasing, and adding gas as required.
Provides technical direction, coordinates the work schedules, and reviews the performance of assigned personnel.
- May install and maintain fixtures and facilities.
IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES
- At least 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting.
At least 4 years general maintenance and repair experience, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
Knowledge of building and equipment maintenance/repair techniques.
Skill in applying building and equipment maintenance/repair technique.
- Skill in both verbal and written communication.
- Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Work involves exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, and/or loud noises. Considerable physical activity requires heavy physical work including heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects up to 50 pounds.
