Business Development Manager

We are seeking a highly talented Business Development Manager (BDM) who will be responsible for vetting new opportunities through new international vendors and new retailers.  They will manage all aspects of design development, presentations and production execution for various lines.  In addition to marketing functions, the BDM will also be responsible for assisting with the sales and budget management for given product lines.  Customer liaison for issues including shipment delays, shortages, extensions, etc.  This role is dedicated to multiple product lines and provides significant communication with various regional, corporate and international customers as well as vendor personnel.  This person will be responsible for working closely with IBC VP of Sales and buyers in creating unique opportunities according to their needs thereby taking an item from conception to the shelf.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Find and develop new business opportunities through new vendors and new customers
  • Create design, development and execution of new item offerings
  • Research trends online, in the market place and at trade shows
  • Create and maintain P&Ls for all product lines for VP of Sales review and management; including the addition of accruals as requested
  • Create packaging and palletization schematics
  • Create production and co-pack manuals for all new items
  • Review selling presentations for repeat items, add information for all new items and remove information on items not repeating
  • Obtain external pricing for all projects such as pricing from suppliers and copackers
  • Manage country compliance for all products
  • Oversee compliance on nutritional labeling/ingredients
  • Source and coordinate co-packing requirements as necessary
  • Complete vendor commitment forms, promotional forms, margin adjustments, banking forms, private label agreements
  • Assist VP of Sales to provide samples and presentations to customers for review and consideration
  • Follow up with customers regarding POs, appointments, deliveries, demo schedules

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Must have minimum 2 years Club channel experience
  • Demonstrates commitment to meeting or exceeding customer expectations, effectively solicits and responds to the needs of the customer both external and internal
  • Strong sales presentation, development and closing skills
  • Works cooperatively with others toward common group objectives, demonstrates respect for the ideas and contributions of other team members, cultivates positive relationships with other associates, and provides assistance and support to others
