This individual has overall responsibility for the data governance and data analysis staff. They will manage the staff making work assignments and monitoring progress in order to deliver the needs of our enterprise data governance.


Job Responsibilities:

The Senior Manager of Data Governance is accountable to create, implement and advance the Global Data Governance long term strategy and development of its services. This position is directly accountable to support and develop data-driven services and to deliver on-time data through innovative solutions to meet the needs of the pharmaceutical and biotech industries.

  • Functional leadership with overall responsibility for delivering technical services (data governance platform, data quality platform, data quality analysis, data integration and support) for data governance projects.
  • Supervise, mentor and evaluate performance of technical services staff in various locations.
  • Assist with and implement global strategies regarding data governance activities to increase productivity, increase quality, and establish global standards.
  • Maintaining optimal department processes and implementing excellent project-specific strategies.
  • Work with business SMEs and identified project stakeholders to develop requirements (functional/non-functional/operational/data quality) for data Management and for data governance.
  • Implement end to end metadata, lineage and data quality solution by leveraging Collibra, Informatica and other tools.
  • Hands-on development mentality, with a willingness to troubleshoot and solve complex problems

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related engineering fields
  • Proficiency with RDBMS systems such as Oracle and Microsoft SQL
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies such as AWS and Azure
  • Good understanding of Data Governance, Data integration, Data Quality and data architecture
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire effective teamwork and motivate staff within a matrix system
  • Knowledge of data quality solution such as Informatica Data Quality
  • Minimum ten (10) years of relevant work experience with minimum five (5) years supervisory experience to include data management and database activities
  • Technical expertise in data models, database design development, data mining techniques
  • Experience with Informatica and associated technologies
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Spotfire, Microsoft PowerBI or similar tools
  • AWS experience is a plus
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multidiscipline teams, on achievement of department goals, objectives, and initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire effective teamwork and motivate staff within a matrix system
  • Proven managerial and interpersonal skills.
