The Activities Coordinator position is responsible for assisting in the planning, coordinating and facilitation of daily resident activities and events for Covenant Village of Florida residents, ensuring accordance with state and federal regulations, as well as CRC policies and procedures.

This position reports to the Resident Services Director and facilitates Residential Living Activities and is service oriented in nature. This position respectfully interacts with all residents, family members, visitors and co-workers maintaining a positive customer service relationship, practicing honesty and integrity in all aspects of job performance. This position will work closely with the activities coordinators for healthcare levels of living, promoting cross functional activities where feasible.

In performance of duties, the Residential Living Activities Coordinator is entrusted with the following responsibilities:

Collaborates with the Resident Services Director in the planning, implementation and facilitation of social and recreational programs at Covenant Village. Programs include structured individual and group activities and facilitating resident led events and activities. All social and recreational programming guidelines are in accordance with CRC's LifeConnect®.

Plans events outside the facility such as educational outings, special trips, musical performances, and other off-campus trips while remaining in compliance with CRC policy #50.

Responsible for hosting lecture series including room setup, sign in, and hosting outside speakers.

Coordinates campus activities between other levels of living where feasible.

Coordinates event logistics with other departments. These departments include Maintenance, Transportation, Dining Service, and Administration.

Is responsible for ensuring room setup is ready for events and payment of fees-for-service are initiated and received in advance of the entertainment/event.

Maintains ongoing rapport with residents for feedback in order to plan, encourage, and facilitate activity participation in programs and events.


A Bachelors Degree in a related field is preferred and training or experience in activities, crafts, recreation or a related field.

Support of Covenant Retirement Communities and its Mission Statement is required.

The position requires three years' experience working with senior adults in activities or a related field. Must have a current Florida driver's license and a good driving record is required if transporting of residents to off campus activities is necessary.

Must have a genuine compassion for and understanding of the aging adult. Must possess good interpersonal skills, project a friendly personality, and understand customer service and team building concepts. Ability to deal with residents in a pleasant and professional manner is required.

The position requires a highly motivated individual who demonstrates organization, planning, initiative and the ability to follow through.

Must use personal judgment and evaluation skills in the selection of activities and programs
