Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Enterprise Patient Safety Director will be part of a team responsible for optimizing patient safety and promoting quality care across the organization.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

- Supports both the individual CVS Health businesses as well as enterprise patient safety initiatives.

- In collaboration with each CVS Health business unit, builds specific business area patient/member safety programs to support the best outcomes. Works to harmonize these patient safety strategies across the organization.

- Develops and uses data analytics to proactively identify risks and plan and develop targeted patient safety strategies, including the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning.

- Fosters an enterprise-wide culture of safety, focusing on the use of systems-based approaches to safety improvement.

- Resource for application of basic principles of Patient Safety Organization (PSO) compliance, in collaboration with Legal.

Required Qualifications
Three to five years of experience in the following:

- Demonstrated capability to deliver work and provide positive leadership in fast-paced, multi-project, harmonious environment – ability to maintain flexibility and tolerate ambiguity while still operating effectively

- Application of exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills, experience being an effective team member and team facilitator, with the ability to navigate a complex and fast-paced work environment

- Skilled communicator and collaborator, must be able to build relationships and effectively persuade and influence across multiples levels of leadership using facts and well-reasoned positions

- The development of analytical frameworks or strategies required for the evaluation of large data sets, and the ability to execute these analyses in a timely manner

- Experience leading /contributing to projects that have advanced technical resources (analysts, application developers, data scientists) and business SMEs

- Proficiency in risk mitigation strategies as failure modes and effects analysis and root cause analysis processes, human factors, and systems level thinking

- Fluency with standard Microsoft Office products with hands on experience/knowledge with a variety of analytic processes and techniques

- Practice as a licensed clinician

Preferred Qualifications
- Skilled communicator and collaborator, must be able to build relationships and effectively persuade and influence across multiples levels of leadership using facts and well-reasoned positions

- High energy, organized, persistent and creative individual with strong communication, interpersonal and systems thinking skills.

- Strong analytical acumen, the ability to interpret complex data sets and produce high-level, logically consistent, patient safety insights and learnings

- Critical thinker, the ability to review complex clinical programs to produce a comprehensive, concise evaluation of potential patient safety risks

- Strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple, complex projects, effectively prioritize and meet required deadlines

- Ability to facilitate comprehensive investigations and interviews to determine root causes of patient safety issues.

Education
- Bachelor's required

- Master's degree preferred

- Active clinical licensure in good standing
