This critically important role is responsible for leadership of Omnicare Pharmacy. This role will report to the General Manager of Omnicare Pharmacy in Northwest, Ohio and will develop and implement strategies to improve operational excellence and superior customer service within the assigned pharmacy.
The Pharmacist in Charge position is responsible for ensuring operational compliance and excellence through the delivery of the right drug, to the right place, at the right time.
YOU WILL: -Take ownership and provide supervision for dispensing pharmacy
Monitor industry, regulatory and compliance industry, regulatory and compliance developments (e.g., state Board of Pharmacy, DEA, FDA, etc.) for pending regulatory changes and partner with Division Compliance Officer and pharmacy management to address them
Communicate and educate staff on pharmacy-related issues including, but not limited to, regulatory changes/compliance, FDA drug recalls, drug information, sample medications, and investigational studies
Implement quality assurance programs for pharmacy services designed to monitor and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of patient care, pursue opportunities to improve patient care, and resolve identified problems.
QA programs should be designed to prevent and detect drug diversion. Attest to the Board in a timely manner those persons who have met the training requirements necessary for registration with the Board
Implement policies and procedures for the procurement, storage, security and disposition of drugs and devices.
Assure that all pharmacists and interns employed at the pharmacy are currently licensed and that all pharmacy technicians employed are currently registered with the board (where state law requires).
Respond to the board regarding any warning notice issued by the Board.
Implement policies and procedures for maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of prescription information and patient health care information, and ensures that all employees of the pharmacy read, sign, and comply with the established policies and procedures.
Ensure pharmacy is in compliance with all local, state, and federal accrediting rules and regulations regarding the practice of pharmacy
Serve as a primary source of information and responds to internal and external customer questions or clarification of information.
May perform various duties associated with narcotic room compliance to include but not limited to reporting of periodic pharmacy self-surveys for controlled substances prescription accuracy, respond to and resolve regulatory surveyor's inquires related to compliance issues, contact physician to receive hard copy of prescription and perform drug recall surveillance and reporting

The most successful PIC demonstrates excellent leadership skills, customer service skills, as well as a good sense of urgency. The contributions you will make as a leader will position CVS Health as a leader within the LTC marketplace.
Active pharmacist license in the state of Ohio, must be in good standing.
At least 5 years in a pharmacist role
At least 3 years of prior management experience as a PIC or pharmacy manager
Willingness and eligibility to become licensed in the state of Michigan within 90 days of start
Prior long term care pharmacist experience in a dispensing role
Active pharmacist license in the state of Michigan,
Bachelors of science in Pharmacy or Pharmacy Doctorate
