Obtain requirements from Product Management in order to build, test, implement and deploy software applications on to infrastructure. Develop and test software programs coded in Java and/or Python and promote them onto a production environment. Work on Hadoop Data Platform and related applications from Cloudera such as Apache Nifi, Ranger and Ambari. Perform evaluations of potential vendors and execute proof of concepts in order to on-board tools for data ingestion, data discovery, workflow orchestration and data quality management tools on the on-premise infrastructure. Customize software applications for clients in order to support architectural and data governance needs by developing features using SDKs. Integrate and enable software applications to ingest data from a variety of data sources such as Mainframes, relational and non-relational databases, data streams such as Apache Kafka, cloud data lakes and HDFS. Develop Java APIs for building data pipelines so that downstream systems can utilize the data. Prepare software design documentations and participate in design reviews with architecture. Develop and support data protection and encryption mechanisms on enterprise scale datasets using big data tools such as Hive, Pig and Spark. Write unit tests using jUnit. Participate in scrum ceremonies adhering to Agile SAFe practices
Master's degree in Computer Systems Engineering, Computer Science or a related field
Minimum 2 years of software development in enterprise applications. Experience must include software application development in Java, automation of ETL processes using Python libraries to support business use cases; working with businesses to gather Requirement specifications; and coding and testing programs to extract data, analyze data and build functional data models for analytical use. Must have experience working with the following technologies: Java, SQL, Apache Hive, Hadoop, and SAS tools.
