Content\nWriter, Manager – Deloitte Insights for CMOs

Deloitte Services LP is searching for an\nexperienced reporter/journalist to develop and write content, edit, polish\nexisting content, and ghost write articles for an audience of Chief Marketing Officers\n(CMOs) and other marketing execs. The resulting material and thought leadership\nwill appear in Deloitte's sponsored content module in a premium business daily.

The\nwork you'll do

\n\n

The position demands current knowledge of\nmarketing-related topics, trends, and issues of interest to CMOs. The position\nrequires exceptional interviewing and writing skills, including the ability to\nwrite for an executive audience. The ideal candidate excels in short- to medium-form\njournalism and can consistently distill complex topics into concise,\ninsightful, and compelling stories for busy executives. The candidate must also\nbe comfortable operating in a highly matrixed organization, possess a high\nlevel of professionalism, and demonstrate a commitment to quality while meeting\ntight deadlines.

Responsibilities include the following:

\n\n



\n\n

  • Developing compelling narratives from\navailable data and information on CMO-related topics

  • Ghostwriting fresh, concise articles and short\npieces for publication

  • Interviewing external luminaries and Deloitte\npractitioners, and translating their insights and perspectives into compelling,\nprofessionally written articles

  • Fostering ongoing relationships with Deloitte\nsubject matter experts and teams—the primary sources of content for publication\n

  • Continually monitoring and identifying\ndevelopments affecting CMOs and other marketing executives

  • Maintaining a working knowledge of current and\nemerging business trends and the impacts these trends have on marketing\nmanagement.

The\nposition requires working with a variety of professionals across Deloitte to\nproduce concise, high-quality, jargon-free articles that address topics such as\nbrand strategy, digital, customer engagement, leadership, innovation, talent,\nand martech. Written deliverable formats include articles, company stories, and\ninterviews. The successful candidate must be adept at juggling multiple daily\ndeadlines while adapting to changes in editorial assignments and direction as\nbusiness conditions dictate.

Qualifications

\n\n

Required:

\n\n

  • Five-plus years' experience reporting and writing\non marketing-related topics for a news, publishing, or professional services\norganization in an environment where every day the writer composes written\ndeliverables for a senior-level audience

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, or Communications

  • Broad, current understanding of marketing\ntrends

  • Excellent stylist capable of producing clean\ncopy quickly

  • Proven experience in short- and medium-form\njournalism (300-800 words) with ability to distill complex topics to under\n1,200 words.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills accompanied by\nsignificant experience interviewing senior executives (in person and via phone)

  • Experience with cross-platform digital\npublishing and with multiple content types (blogs, webcasts, embedded video,\netc.)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Word

  • Knowledge of AP\nstyle guide

  • Well-developed time, resource, and project\nmanagement skills

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines

  • Flexibility, adaptability, responsiveness,\nattention to detail, resourcefulness

  • A commitment to excellence and a high degree\nof professionalism

  • Ability to work remotely as part of a team,\nwith a can-do attitude

  • Willingness to adhere to all Deloitte\nstandards for quality and brand

  • Availability to travel as needed to cover\nmeetings, conferences, etc.
