 BASIC FUNCTIONS

 

The Asia Logistics Manager will lead & support strategic initiatives for all Modes of Transportation within Actuation (ACT) Business Unit globally. Key activities in this position includes but not limited to optimizing the Emerson logistics programs as well as defining and implementing cost and lead time improvement opportunities as it relates to logistics. Functions will also include global data analysis and reporting; Supply Chain Optimization programs support and operational support activities for the production sites and sales offices.

The Asia Logistics Manager must have or develop an understanding of Emerson Logistics programs, Supply Chain Optimization (SCO) systems and processes, as well as an end to end overview of the Emerson Supply Chain Programs.  He/She must possess strong communication, analytical and technical skills. 

 

 PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The Asia Logistics Manager will be supporting the Global Logistics Manager in multiple tasks including but not limited to:

 

Global Support:

  • Assist in the development of global policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure quality and cost containment
  • Provide logistics support for ACT global manufacturing sites, service centers, representatives, and customers when requested
  • Supporting OTM rollout if needed
  • Provide Training to global logistics representatives on Corporate Logistics Tools (OTM – Oracle Transportation Management (TMS)), FTI (Business Intelligence Platform), etc.)
  • Support Global Freight Audit Program implementation with data analysis
  • Support Global ACT Sites in the FA&P invoice resolution process
  • Able to complete Exhibit 168, Exhibit 120, Financial Review and Profit Review independently for all global ACT logistics

 

 Global Analytics:

  • Develop & Prepare Performance Measurements reports for Service Provider Performance Reviews
  • Perform analytics from data collection from different sources
    • Carrier reports from parcel carriers
    • OTM data collection for ground and heavy air
    • APLL report for ocean
  • Perform saving analysis, identify opportunities and present summary of findings and/or recommendation to the Global Logistics Manager
  • Support and drive Logistics saving opportunities across Actuation sites globally NOT limited to Asia
  • Support Global Logistics Manager in collecting freight spend by mode data from OTM FTI, ACT Sites and Sales offices
  • Create ad-hoc rate comparison studies to support logistics decision makings

 

Run weekly and monthly global carrier's reports:

-    Develop standard reporting and metrics in line with the existing program metrics

-    Weekly Reporting on Carriers Metrics

-    Coordinate recurrent calls with the carriers in order to improve the KPI's

-    Run weekly/monthly carrier SCO leakage reports

-    Non preferred carrier utilization

-    Spot bids managed by the mode team will be loaded in Program Impact

-    Analyze air vs parcel

-    Consolidation opportunities

-    +150lbs parcel shipment to move to LTL, move all 2+ days parcel to ground

-     Maintain Global Logistics Dashboard specific to all ACT global sites  

 

Perform operational global activities such as:

  • Assist the Global Logistics Manager in compiling pricing exhibits upon e-sourcing award
  • Able to complete Exhibit 168, Exhibit 120, Financial Review and Profit Review independently for all global ACT logistics
  • Coordinate and manage rate request related activities (spot or long-term rate) between ACT Sites, carriers and SCO Support team
  • Assist Actuation sites globally with SCO bookings on request
  • Support SCO Operational and Audit Pay Teams in any ground rates or carriers related inquiries
  • Support the implementation of transportation Bids
    • Routing guide updates
    • TRaX system rate and routing updates

EDUCATION:

BS Degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field with at least 5 years professional experience, and 3 years in a Business Manager role.

 

EXPERIENCE I SKILLS:

  • Strong computer and analytical skills are a must (Microsoft Excel, Access, and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (English – both verbal and written)
  • Supply chain, Logistics or transportation industry experience is highly desirable
  • Understands the pricing dynamics of the freight forwarding industry
  • Understands basic concepts of supply chain
  • Experience in a procurement role or with online sourcing systems is a plus
  • Ability to work independently
  • Comfortable interacting with staff across globally diverse businesses and multiple functional areas
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS); electronic data interchange technologies (EDI, XML) is a plus
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project/Power BI/Tableau is a plus
