The position exists for the purpose of providing excellent financial service to Asia Pacific Headquarter of Emerson Automation Solutions. Serves as an extension of the APHQ Finance team in Singapore, functions including but not limited to assisting in the World Area's periodic HFM financial close, ensuring that all Asia Pacific sites and Business Units comply with the standard financial reporting requirements of Automation Solution US HQ and Emerson Corporate; consolidation, preparation and analysis of various monthly/quarterly/annual financial reports and requirements. Applying Emerson Internal Controls and Corporate Policies & Procedures. Works closely with Asia Pacific sites and Business Units in identifying, analyzing and resolving reports/accounts related issues.

Responsibilities

Duty 1: Hyperion Financial Management - Financial Data Reporting (for Flash, Actuals, POR, Product Group and KOB)
• Extracts/generates quantitative information from databases using standard report templates. (Oracle, BBBI, JDE and QlickView for Actualized data and Management Book/POR System for Expected results)
• Cleans extracted data using pre-defined guidelines or instructions.
• Formats extracted data based on expected report output. (multiple data formatting requirements)
• Categorizes and segments extracted data using tools to convert data to information relevant to the report (excel, macro, database)
• Calculates extracted data from multiple resources using standard financial tools (BU/HQ Orders & Sales, P&L accounts).
• Propose adjustments to accurately report orders and sales details. Follow through to ensure proposed corrective actions are implemented.
• Analyze and validates variances to identify reason for variances and possible actions to eliminate and/or justify the variances.
• Tracks corrective and preventive actions to ensure they are closed in a timely manner.
• Upload validated numbers to HFM system. Run the HFM system consolidation.
• Analyze and validates imbalances between the desired numbers and system generated data.
• Analyzes gathered information & data using diagnostic analytics by identifying the issue, what causes it, its impact to operation, how to mitigate its impact, identification of possible solutions.
• Creates reports based on EMR standard financial templates.

Duty 2: Financial Period Close and Consolidation in Hyperion Financial Management System
• Consolidates and standardize site financial data into Hyperion System.
• 1st line of contact for Asia sites and BU's HFM related requests (ie, promotion and rejection of HFM entities).
• Assist Asia Pacific sites in basic HFM troubleshooting based on updated manuals and guidance from Financial Systems Leadership Center.
• Generates test reports to validate Asia sites' compliance with the standard financial reporting and disclosure requirements of Auto Sol USHQ and EMR.
• Analyze and validates to identify reason for variances and possible actions to eliminate discrepancies and/or justify the exemptions.
• Tracks previously identified corrective and preventive actions to ensure they are closed in a timely manner.
• Validation of financial data through sense check, variance and trend analysis, through sites and BU communication and use of other financial data available.

• Analyzes gathered information & data using diagnostic analytics by identifying the issue, what causes it, its impact to operation, how to mitigate its impact, identification of possible solutions.
• Cascades HFM system issues/updates to Asia users.
• Conducts overview training for new HFM entity on APHQ finance processes, reporting requirements and ERP/business tools, new user/site training.

Duty 3: Operations and Financial Reporting
• Extracts/generates quantitative information from databases using standard report templates. (Oracle, BBBI, JDE and QlickView for Actualized data and Management Book/POR System for Expected results, HFM)
• Consolidates financial data and standardize reports from different data sources
• Analyzes gathered information & data using diagnostic analytics by identifying the issue, what causes it, its impact to operation, how to mitigate its impact, identification of possible solutions.
• Combines extracted data from multiple resources using automated tools (excel, macro, database)
• Categorizes and segments extracted data using tools to convert data to information relevant to the report (excel, macro, database).
• Analyzes gathered information & data using through descriptive analytics, trend analysis of current numbers against expected numbers.
• Creates reports based on EMR standard financial templates

Duty 4: Process and System Controls

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy or any Accounting related degree
  • Certified Public Accountant

Job Related Experience:

  • 2 years combined experience in financial reporting and analysis, budgeting, general ledger, general accounting, intercompany accounting, fixed assets and inventory, financial statements preparation and audit.

Specific Knowledge:

  • Practical knowledge of Enterprise resource planning (i.e., Hyperion Financial Management System, JD Edwards, Oracle)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Advanced Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Working knowledge of Generally-accepted accounting principles and Financial Accounting Standard Board regulation
