This employee will be part of the Software Development team for the DeltaV Process Control System. They will be a member of an Agile Scrum team responsible for full stack development of features for the DeltaV Control System. This team is focuses on the Process Control Runtime, Communications, Advanced Control, and Device Data Integration portions of the system. The Software Developer's focus will be on embedded real-time software applications running on custom micro-processor based hardware with the opportunity to also work on applications development in a Microsoft windows environment. This embedded real-time software is written in C and C++ for execution under a real time operating system such as QNX, Linux or similar environment. Successful candidates must be willing to work in a small team environment using an Agile Development process.


Responsibilities

  • Generation of user stories and software designs in accordance with Marketing and Human Centered Design requirements and specifications, code development, unit level, integration and system testing
  • Software support and maintenance of released software that is developed using object-oriented and/or services based methodologies
  • Develop software that is of high quality, high-performance, and includes secure code capable of running on multiple platforms

Additional Information
Occasional travel including international travel is required in this position.Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or related engineering field and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or a master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or related engineering field and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in the development of embedded real-time firmware/software
  • Experience with commercial real-time embedded operating systems (QNX or similar)
  • Experience and/or knowledge of application development in a Microsoft Windows environment
  • Experience and/or knowledge of C#
  • Well-versed in C and C++ development and object-oriented design
  • Willing to work and succeed in a small team environment
  • Familiarity or experience developing software using Agile/scrum methodology
  • Demonstrated versatility and self-motivation
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as an architect and designer of embedded real-time applications
  • Experience with low level microprocessor programming including PowerPC and Arm processors
  • Experience with wireless communications
  • Experience with Visual Studio and Team Foundation Server
  • Experience with UML, MFC/C++, WPF/C#, WCF and HTML5/Javascript
  • An understanding or experience with process control or distributed control systems
