If you are a customer service professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Cudahy, Wisconsin location, you will operate under the direction of the Lifecycle Services Manager. Our Warranty Specialist role is a customer facing role requiring strong communication and problem-solving skills. In addition to the responsibilities below, this position requires a highly motivated individual who can troubleshoot urgent, complex customer issues, as well as drive improvement for internal processes.
AS A WARRANTY SPECIALIST, YOU WILL:
Respond to customers (distributors, contractors, and end users) to assist in the smooth resolution of technical matters relating to equipment maintenance, operation, and repair.
Evaluate parts returned to Vilter on RMA and provide warranty claim determinations along with customer reports.
Provide support for the parts department with parts identification, parts order handling, write-up, and order entry.
Act as a technical resource to department personnel that are in-house and traveling service technicians.
Communicate via phone and e-mails with customers to provide technical expertise needed to identify and troubleshoot site issues.
Prepare/authorize RMA's and purchase orders for service and warranty work.
Review parts and equipment returned through the RMA process to determine root cause of failure and recommend warranty disposition.
Assist in formatting warranty procedures compatible with industry standards. Coordinate with customers, distributors, end users, and Vilter sales personnel in implementing the procedures.
Track service and warranty data to aid in improvement.
Perform field service assignments as necessary at various locations. Ability to travel up to 15% on an annual basis.
Be involved as an instructor for Vilter training schools conducted for distributors and end users.
Utilize Vilter's business software system to determine stock status, RMA information, open and closed order information, purchasing retrieval, parts lists for departmental matters, etc.
Perform miscellaneous tasks and duties as required.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Associates degree in any course, preferably Refrigeration, HVAC, or engineering in nature.
3 -5 years of experince as a technician in manufacturing.
Customer-focused and service-oriented.
Customer service experience.
Understanding of all aspects of the particular product/service supported.
Desire to strive for continuous personal development and improvement.
Professional image to the customers and to the team.
Fluent in written and spoken English .
Proficient with report writing, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to travel up to 10%-15% of the time.
Legal Authorization to work within the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Bachelors degree in Engineering, or 3-5 years of experince as a technician in refridgeration or HVAC industry
Good to excellent computer skills.
