PURPOSE

  • You are responsible for providing best service, in-house and on-site, for all Emerson Instruments, mainly for the Swiss Market
  • You are engaged to achieve full customer satisfaction through delivering high class services

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide active support and maintenance to customers for all Instruments or related services produced or delivered by Emerson on the telephone, by email or at customer site related to products (HW & SW)
  • Register and document all customer calls in the Emerson database, analyse and manage them actively
  • Analyse, document and solve technical customer requests and problems (HW & SW) for all delivered systems
  • If required, escalate problems to specialists in Emerson Support Centres for further investigation and follow-up problems until solution is implemented
  • Register and monitor Service contracts; execute service according contract and schedule
  • Manage the calibration laboratory and secure quality level to achieve periodic re-certification
  • Maintain and own service and maintenance related ISO procedures and work instructions
  • Assist the sales organisation in demonstrations, presentations and service estimates
  • Register and monitor Service contracts; execute services according to contract and schedule
  • Work together with the Desk Sales team on quotations for spare parts, upgrades and minor expansions
  • Actively support the Sales team to sell and renew Service contracts
  • Provide information and technical input to Field Sales team
  • Assure the transfer of technical knowledge within the Service and Engineering department
  • Ensure service activities meet standards imposed by safety legislation or by quality requirements
  • Responsibility to follow the “Trade Compliance Screening” procedure


EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE

  • Education: Bachelor or Technical degree, preferred background Process Measuring and Control technology, Electrical or Process Engineering
  • In-depth knowledge  of modern measurement technologies and Field Instruments, Asset Management Systems
  • Basic knowledge of valves and regulators
  • Basic experience with Control Systems, PLCs and bus technologies (Foundation Fieldbus, Profibus, etc.)
  • MS-Office applications
  • Work experience: several years post graduate experience in the customer service or maintenance area in an industry environment
  • Language skills: French – fluent, English – good, German – basic
  • Interpersonal skills: Professional attitude, technical orientation, committed to excellence, teamwork, flexibility and self learning
  • Must have a valid car driving license
  • Willingness to travel to other world areas for training or business trips or for longer assignments to perform design studies and commissioning activities on customer sites if necessary
