Open Systems International, Inc. (OSI) www.osii.com, proud to be part of Emerson (is a fast-paced, growing, high technology company, headquartered in Medina, Minnesota. As a world leader in the Operations Technology (OT) field, OSI develops and supplies state-of-the-art energy management, optimization and control software solutions to energy utility companies worldwide.

We currently have openings for a System Integration Technical Business Analyst within our Adherant Consulting client services department. In this position you will travel to customer sites to support the implementation and integration of OSI OMS, DMS, and DERMS systems. Specific on-the-job training will be provided. As System Integration Technical Business Analyst, your responsibilities will include:

  • Review, analyze, and evaluate business systems, processes, and user needs
  • Interact with business and operations stakeholders to determine requirements
  • Interact with technical resources, middleware developers, DBA's, and infrastructure to explain functional design and address questions regarding the technical approach to system integration
  • Develop integration system designs utilizing a variety of different middleware platforms
  • Participate in all phases of the SDLC to ensure implementation of system requirements
  • Define current/future state process flows related to integration
  • Conduct root cause analysis and risk/issue identification.
  • Ability to work with the development team closely to reverse engineer and draft requirements from legacy products
  • Deliver the following artifacts as needed: Business requirements document, functional requirements, functional and technical interface design, use cases, report mockups, dashboards, and process workflow design
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of business needs from both technical and business perspectives
  • Develop testing scenarios (test cases) based on client requirements and integration design
  • Effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Applicant is expected to travel to customer sites (up to 50%) and work onsite Monday through Thursday
  • Approved travel expenses will be reimbursed by OSI


  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems / Computer Science / Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5+ years' experience in SDLC, functional design, gathering and documenting requirements for complex business systems and products.
  • Experience in conducting business requirement sessions, JAD sessions and business process sessions.
  • Experience creating integration design documents (functional and technical)
  • Ability to grasp technical concepts and translate business requirements into Functional Specifications
  • Experience in data analysis using SQL, MS Access or related technologies.
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency and attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Minimum of 5+ years in planning, designing, and executing system integration testing
  • Experience with software tools Jira or Jama
  • Candidates must be based in the US.


  • Past technical experience and/or software development experience
  • Previous experience working with Outage Management System (OMS), Distribution Management System (DMS), DSCADA or ADMS systems
  • Experience working in the Electric Utilities Industry (Distribution, Generation or Transmission)
  • Experience in integration requirements gathering, functional and technical design
