We are looking for an exceptional candidate to join our AgileOps Product Support Engineering Team that's part of the world-leading Emerson Automation Solutions Industrial Software business. The AgileOps Technical Support Engineer has a crucial role within Emerson and has high visibility across global customer accounts.

AgileOps Alarm Management Software provides consistency and reliability to the control system by keeping it optimally configured for the process state. The AgileOps Suite includes a master alarm database, advanced alarm shelving, dynamic alarm management, safety system monitoring, input tracking, and alarm performance reporting against industry standard KPIs.

The AgileOps Technical Support Engineer provides services and support of the AgileOps Suite of software applications measured by the highest level of customer satisfaction and service excellence. The individual in this position will be responsible for connecting with customers to understand their needs and help them achieve their goals throughout the AgileOps Software Lifecycle.

Your typical day at Emerson would include handling customer technical support cases through phone, email, and chat submission. On occasion, you would assist with front-end engineering efforts; system build and technology validation; and on-site/remote configuration, installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and upgrade services.

As a TECHNICAL SUPPORT ENGINEER, you will:

  • Connect with customers to understand their needs and how you can help them utilize Emerson to achieve their goals
  • Handle customer technical support cases through phone, email, and chat submission
  • Update the company support website with tech tips and brief documents
  • Evaluate Software Lifecycle Management potential through assessing compatibility of new programs with existing programs
  • Continually improve Emerson software through review against objectives and specifications, creating improvement requests, and reviewing proposed changes
  • Maintaining system functionality by testing computer components
  • Achieve Software Lifecycle Management objectives by collecting relevant data, identifying and evaluating possible actions, and suggesting a course of action
  • Document standard operating instructions as reference material for users
  • Deliver infrastructure design and engineering service projects using AgileOps alarm management software with 3rd party applications
  • Install and configure AgileOps software solutions on DeltaV and other third party platforms
  • Visit customer facility to assist with Software install and troubleshooting.
  • Provide technical direction and support for AgileOps Software within Cloud-Hosted offerings
  • Collaborate with team members to improve processes and documentation related to software technology testing and deployment

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
  • Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication skills
  • Hands-on experience creating Microsoft SQL queries
  • Ability to travel, including internationally if needed
  • Ability to meet project deadlines and maintain consistency with existing project schedules

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Proven leadership skills and positive customer and sales force interaction
  • Experience with downloading and updating control system strategy configuration
  • Proficiency with Windows Server with IIS, Microsoft SQL, virtualization platforms
  • Understanding of basic computer networking concepts
  • Prior work experience with software installation, server maintenance, and software configuration.
  • Experience with alarm management and/or simulation software concepts
  • Proficiency with OPC / DCOM knowledge
