Suncoast Hospice, a member of Empath Health is currently seeking a Physician Coder Medical Services to join our team.

The Physician Coder Medical Services:

Responsible for coding all medical services.

Responsible for auditing physician documentation, assigning appropriate ICD-9/ICD 10-CM and CPT diagnostic and procedural codes and providing coding education to clinical staff and providers

Position Requirements

Education and/or Experience: Associate or Bachelor's in Healthcare related field Minimum of two or more years of experience with expertise coding in CPT, Evaluation and Management (E&M) services preferred.

Certification: Certified Coder through AHIMA or AAPC. Certification of RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P or CPC.

Experience coding for a variety of multi-specialties.

Familiar with Risk Adjusted Coding, Chronic Care Management, Transitional Care Management.

Familiar with standard of care for: 1.Primary Care 2.Skilled Nursing Facility 3. Assisted Living Facility 4. Independent Living.

Ability to provide a secure work environment.

Experience working with Outlook, Excel, and electronic health record systems.

Able to work well with physicians and coworkers in a team environment.
