Envision Physician Services has an opportunity for a Board-Certified Pediatric Intensivist to be the Site Medical Director for our inpatient pediatric and pediatric critical care practice at Flagstaff Medical Center in Flagstaff, AZ. Flagstaff Medical Center is a 270-bed regional hospital distinguished by its high-quality care, specialty services, and Level 1 Trauma Center. The pediatric department includes a dedicated 14-bed unit filled with private rooms and the only pediatric intensive care unit in Northern Arizona.

Flagstaff is a charming mountain town in Arizona's high country, located along historic Route 66 and near Sedona and the Grand Canyon. Flagstaff is nestled in the San Francisco Peaks Mountain surrounded by the world's largest ponderosa pine forest and filled with majestic landscapes and scenery. This beautiful city offers all four seasons and lots of sunshine, making it a paradise for outdoor activities, such as camping, hiking, skiing, golfing, and more.

Opportunity Details:

  • Staffing Model: 2 Pediatric Intensivists to evenly share rounding & call coverage
  • Schedule: flexible call schedule
    • In-house during the day
    • Call from home at night
  • Cover Pediatric floor, PICU, & consults from ER
    • 14-bed pediatric unit
    • 2022 Peds/PICU Admission/Census Data:
      • 518 Admissions
      • ADC: 6

Medical Director Opportunity Details:

  • Minimum two years leadership experience
  • Focus on Unit Quality Improvement and Team Development
  • Collaborate with hospital staff, leadership, and community OB's & pediatrician's
  • Engage in program development and volume growth with neighboring community hospitals & providers
  • Standardize care and ensure evidence-based practice standards
