The simulator CSIM, used for verification of base stations, consists of several components executing in different environments. Each component produces its own log and trace data.
To make it easier for users of this simulator to observe and correctly understand the internal flow of events, log and trace data from all CSIM components could be collected into one single stream of events. This would make it possible to present the internal flow of events in the simulator in a chronological order and to present data that belongs together separately. The collection of log and trace data can be implemented using an open source framework. This improved presentation of log and trace data would be of great value for both users and designers of CSIM.
This thesis is about analyzing what open source framework to use for a common log and trace framework in the simulator CSIM, and also to implement this framework in the simulator CSIM.
The following steps are envisioned as part of the thesis work:
- Investigate and compare suitable open source frameworks for log and trace.
- Implement a usage of one of the frameworks in one or more components of CSIM.
- Analyze the result of using the framework for collecting log and trace data in CSIM.
The thesis will be concluded with a result presentation for Ericsson.
This project aims at students in electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering or similar.
