RBS Site Engineering - Solution Architect

Job summary

As RBS Site Engineering Solution Architect, you will be working on all aspects of installation engineering, proposing site solutions and setting the standards, methods and procedures against which the rollout of Ericsson 5G radio sites will be deployed into the customer's network. The role is related Primarily to Radio Products, Infrastructure, Rigging and Antennas, but also includes In-Building solutions, RAN Controllers/Switching, Civils. 

Responsibilities

Develop site solutions and produce the installation standards documentation and methods by which the Ericsson Radio Solution will be deployed into the customer network.    Adapting and evolving the processes, standards, methods and tools within the service family Civil Works and Site Engineering. 

Delivering all engineering documentation required for introduction of Ericsson 4G & 5G RAN solution to customer network.  Defining at network level the Site Type Models and Site Solutions.  Produce Detailed Designs, Node Layouts, Connectivity diagrams, Site Installation Drawing templates, for baseband/radio/antenna sub-system, including enclosures and power.  Document the installation scenarios, methods and ways of working, making full use of the latest Ericsson products and best practices to ensure smart, fast deployment.  Define BOM for hardware and site materials required, produce site documentation templates and engineering/installation guidelines suitable for use by implementation teams. Provide training to deployment teams and Approved Service Providers.  Support in presales phase to define engineering and installation scope of works, engineering templates, 3PP materials & services proposals.

You will be working on RBS Solutions using the latest Ericsson Radio System and Site Solution products.

Technical Proficiencies

  • 5 years of Installation Engineering experience with Ericsson Radio products
  • Excellent knowledge of Ericsson Radio System products (ERS)
  • Site Engineering experience including Site Survey, material specification & Site documentation production for one or more of the following areas:- RBS, Antenna Line, Enclosures and Power equipment.
  • Antenna Line and Rigging expertise desirable
  • Proven experience in producing engineering documentation & guidelines
  • Climbing or Working at Height (Rooftop) Trained and Certified (including Medical Clearance, RF Awareness Trained, First Aid Trained)
  • Knowledge and experience working on RAN Swap and RAN refresh projects
  • 5G knowledge desired
  • Knowledge of Ericsson engineering tools

Academic Background

  • Degree Level / HND in Technical Discipline or Relevant Technical Experience
