Solution architect – site engineering lead

Job summary:

You will act as the Site Engineering Lead in a major 5G rollout project, acting as the main point of contact towards the Customer, Programme & Product Development Unit. The role is related Primarily to Radio Products, Infrastructure, Rigging and Antennas, but also includes In-Building solutions, RAN Controllers/Switching, Civils.

Responsibilities include:

Close interaction with Customer and Ericsson Solution Lead, to define the detailed physical designs, installation standards and methods by which the Ericsson Radio Solution will be deployed into the customer network. Adapting and evolving the processes, standards, methods and tools within the service family Civil Works and Site Engineering.

Leading & driving the workstream for deployment of Ericsson LTE & 5G RAN solution, handling all Site Engineering activities i.e. Producing Site Solutions, Detailed Designs, Equipment BOMs, Installation methods for baseband/radio/antenna sub-system, enclosures and power, making full use of the latest Ericsson products and best practices to ensure smart, fast deployment.

Define engineering and installation scope of works, engineering templates for all node types and site scenarios, 3PP materials & services proposals.

Translate high level Radio system solution designs into Low Level Design & engineering documentation suitable for use by implementation teams. Design of Radio Solution for implementation into customer's cabinets and site solutions. You will be working on RBS Solutions using the latest ERS products, Radio, Baseband and Site Solutions

Technical proficiencies:
  • 8 years of Installation Engineering and advanced Engineering experience with Ericsson Radio products
  • Excellent knowledge of Ericsson Radio System products (ERS)
  • Site Engineering experience including Site Survey, material specification & Site documentation production for one or more of the following areas:- RBS, Antenna Line, Enclosures and Power equipment.
  • Proven experience in producing engineering documentation & guidelines
  • Climbing or Working at Height (Rooftop) Trained and Certified (including Medical Clearance, RF Awareness Trained, First Aid Trained)
  • Knowledge and experience working on RAN Swap and RAN refresh projects
  • 5G knowledge desired
  • Knowledge of Ericsson engineering tools
  • Environmental design, Enclosure Design, Enclosure installation; environmental alarms; site civils; AC/DC Power M&E works to support RBS installations
Academic background
  • Degree Level / HND in Technical Field or Relevant Technical Experience
